Faith, Doubt, Wrestle, Identity

Doubt can feel unsettling and unnerving. People who say they follow Jesus do things that hurt us. Bad things happen to good people. Suffering is inescapable. Your questions and your wrestle with God, yourself, and your story are welcome here and will be met with non-judgmental empathy and compassion.

Christian Counseling can mean a lot of things to a lot of different people. At The Dwelling Place, my responsibility to you is to hold space for your beliefs, your doubt, and your questions…without imposing mine. This is a place where we attempt to make sense of the things in our lives that don’t make sense with the understanding that we were created body, soul, and spirit. To be strictly clinical and only attend to the brain or mind is missing the spiritual component of our being. Additionally, to only focus on the spiritual means we miss important facets of the way our bodies were designed to function and are impacted by suffering and hardship.

This is a safe space to process and heal from:

Spiritual abuse

Dogmatic Religion

Wounding in the church

Deconstruction and reconstruction of religious beliefs or practices that are no longer congruent with what you believe

Finding your true identity

Learning how to walk as a new creation
